Welcome to my own food review! Being a vegetarian is not as hard at some might thing. It’s true that there are more meat products out there. Still, I set myself to try vegetarian foods in order to keep the excitement of my food choices alive.
Amy’s California Veggie Burger
Taste: I’ve had other veggie burgers before. My omnivore husband liked this one best and so did I.
INGREDIENTS : (VEGAN) ORGANIC MUSHROOMS, ORGANIC ONIONS, ORGANIC BULGAR WHEAT, ORGANIC CELERY, ORGANIC CARROTS, ORGANIC OATS, ORGANIC WALNUTS, WHEAT GLUTEN, ORGANIC POTATOES, SEA SALT, EXPELLER PRESSED HIGH OLEIC SAFFLOWER OIL, ORGANIC GARLIC. CONTAINS WHEAT & WALNUTS
Where did I eat it: for dinner at home and at work the next day.
How did I eat it: I ate this between two slices of whole grain bread, with light Duke’s mayo, mustard (I love mustard!), onions and pepper jack cheese.
How I felt after eating it: I felt satisfied because of all the fiber I got. The condiments and cheese gave an extra quick to this great burger as well.
Will I eat it again? Most definitely! This was my best veggie burger experience so far!
Amy’s Veggie Loaf Whole Meal
Taste: It doesn’t taste like real meat loaf but it gave me a similar experience – if only for emotional sake.
INGREDIENTS : NON-DAIRY...NO CHOLESTEROL 0G TRANS FAT • NO ADDED MSG • NO PRESERVATIVES ORGANIC POTATOES, ORGANIC PEAS, ORGANIC CORN, MUSHROOMS, ORGANIC ONIONS, ORGANIC BROCCOLI, ORGANIC LENTILS, ORGANIC BABY OATS, BABY LIMA BEANS, ORGANIC LEEKS, ORGANIC TOMATO PUREE, ORGANIC CELERY, ORGANIC CARROTS, ORGANIC SOY MILK (WATER, ORGANIC SOYBEANS), ORGANIC SWEET RICE FLOUR, FILTERED WATER, EXPELLER PRESSED HIGH OLEIC SAFFLOWER OIL, EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL, SEA SALT, POTATO STARCH, HONEY, ORGANIC GARLIC, ORGANIC APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, SPICES*, BLACK PEPPER. CONTAINS SOY AND GLUTEN. *100% PURE HERBS & SPICES (NO HIDDEN INGREDIENTS)
Where did I eat it: for lunch at work.
How did I eat it: with a fork. Haha!
How I felt after eating it: I felt very satisfied. I felt better than I did when I used to eat meat loaf because I didn’t feel that gassy sensation meat gives you. It was all about tasting a vegetarian ‘comfort food.’
Will I eat it again? Maybe in a couple of months because it didn’t blow my taste buds. The product did call the attention of my omnivore co-workers.
