My year started last Saturday when I crossed the finish line of my half marathon. I wrote all about it here. I originally wrote about my holiday plan here in this post.
My goal was to apply the following holiday plan:
• Pre-track my holiday meal
• Plan my workouts
• I want to track daily
• I want to reflect on my day
I did all of these things, thankfully. I also had multiple holiday celebrations. I just kept applying my plan to each week as they came. The results? From
October '23 to January -23 | I lost -4.6 lbs!
First weigh-in of October: 160.6 lbs
First weigh-in of January: 156 lbs
Since I've been a WW member, over the holidays, I lost weight 4 times, and I gained 3 times.
Here is what I learned:
• Losing weight during the holiday is better than gaining. I get to start the year on the right path.
• The time to decide if you are going to gain, lose, or maintain weight during the holiday season is before the holiday season starts. I voted early. I was determined to succeed. I trusted my plan. I executed my plan.
• When the going got tough, I kept going toward the results I wanted. Instead of repeating a behavior I did not want to see, I did what I wanted to see.
• I relied on prepping vegetables and lean protein for meals. I also prepped breakfast. I kept thinking if I ate a lot of colorful vegetables, I would feel better. I was correct.
I am eager to start this new year focused on improving my health through consistency.
