The Bible never ceases to amaze it. The more I read, the more I learn about God. Also, the more I read, the more I want to read.
This year, I decided to buy a physical copy of the One Year Bible and start reading it each day.
I enjoy the physical copy because I don't have the "glare" on my face, making me tired. I also enjoy turning real pages. I've been checking out physical books from the library because of this very reason.
I am often reminded of details I forget about Bible stories. I'm a fan of all the books, Leviticus included. I'm enjoying reading about the law and why God wanted His people to do things a certain way.
The One Year Bible allows me to read the Old Testament, the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs daily. The amount of wisdom I receive from all of these books is making an impact in my life.
I write down a few thoughts about what I read. I want to do that more as the year progresses. It is a good thing to read, think about what I read and write down the things I learn.
It is still necessary to study the Bible. What I do for 15 minute is to read it. Immersing myself in the study of Scriptures really help me understand God's word better and I apply what I learn to my life.
I am determined not to allow others to tell me how to think about the Bible. The God of the Bible should guide me in how I think about the Bible. He does use Bible teachers, Sunday School teachers, pastors and small group leaders to help us. I enjoy the environment these servants set more when I read and study before I show up. The discussion is richer and I have room to grow even more.
I heard someone wise say that the goal of anyone who teaches the Bible should be to encouraged the student to want to pick up the Bible on their own and use it.
I'm not sure if you are reading through the Bible this year but there isn't a law that says you need to start January 1. You can start today. I'm a witness it will change your life.
