Since I surrendered my eating habits to God, my life has changed. I have more energy, I am healthier, I feel better, I look better.
Since I surrendered my eating habits to God, I have overcome sickness. I dealt with high blood pressured for the last few months and the God has blessed me to get out of medication. Yes, He made me free indeed. The whole ordeal gave me a clean health bill. I am free to live as a person with abundant health.
Since I surrendered my eating habits to Jesus I have made mistakes. I have surrendered to my old self and I have eaten processed food, full of sodium.

There’s always a consequence for mistakes. In my case it wasn’t so much the numbers on the scale but the blood pressure numbers. The headaches came back. I looked back at freedom and I decided: no more! Why should I go back to bondage when God has shown me the way to health? I can’t do that to myself and I can’t deny the freedom I was given. I need to do better, I need to surrender again to God’s plan.
Some people do well with processed food. I’m not one of them. Avoiding too much salt in your foods is a challenge with God all things are possible. I was trying to buy peanut butter last night and I couldn’t because all the processed kind (even the so called organic) had salt added to it. Why? I don’t know. I know I didn’t buy it because I had to choose between a craving and my health.
Why spend your money on food that does not give you
strength? Why pay for food that does you no
good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is
good. You will enjoy the finest food. Isaiah
55: 2 (NLT)
I am amazed at how God will give your every step if you let Him. This verse is very relevant to what I went through yesterday. I have to agree with the Bible: it makes no sense to spend money on food that will eventually make me sick instead of giving me health. Why pay for food that will not benefit my health but will benefit the cravings of my flesh? My flesh sometimes craves for sugar or salt because it needs to release the stress. We all know that eating doesn’t release stress permanently, it adds to the problem. The end of the verse says that listening to God brings good eating to you. He created me, He knows what I am supposed to eat. I even have to be careful asking God to bless food that will harm my body because it has more sodium than I need. I’m really trying to be a healthier person, that’s why I’m convicted by these things in life.
Why do you spend your money on junk food, your hard-earned cash on cotton candy?Listen to me, listen well: Eat only the best, fill yourself with only the finest.Pay attention, come close now, listen carefully to my life-giving, life-nourishing words. Isaiah 55:2-3 (The Message)
I should only eat the best for my body. I heard that it’s okay to be a ‘food snob.’ I didn’t used to be one. I used to eat whatever was in front of me because everyone else was eating or because of another simplistic reason. Because my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, I am to eat only the finest fuel.
The words of God bring life into our situations. The words of a diet and fitness book cannot do the same thing for me. Physical training, intellection training is of some value but godliness has value in this life and in the life to come.
I’m choosing God and I choose to do things His way.
